IND vs ENG 2024: Credit to Yashasvi’s success goes to Rajasthan Royals’ Zubin Barucha – Father Bhupendra Jaiswal

Bhupendra Jaiswal, Yashasvi’s father, has given credit for his son’s success to Rajasthan Royals’ performance director, Zubin Barucha. Bhupendra revealed that Barucha pushed the youngster to the limits and helped him get the best out of himself.

Jaiswal scored a majestic knock of 214 runs in the second innings of the third Test match against England at Rajkot.

The southpaw has scored three centuries in his young career and all three of them have been daddy hundreds, all 150+, including two double centuries.

Jaiswal scored a fine knock of 214 runs in the second innings of the third Test match against England at Rajkot, including 14 fours and 12 sixes, the joint-most in a Test innings along with Wasim Akram and helped India register their biggest Test win of 434 runs.

Jaiswal became only the third Indian, after Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli, to score double hundreds in two consecutive Tests, and the seventh Indian overall to score more than 200 in the second innings. The left-hander has amassed 545 runs in the first three Test matches against England at an average of 109 and a strike rate of 81.10.

“Along with Yashasvi, his coach Zubin Barucha has worked a lot. He used to go himself and personally train him. Barucha used to keep on grinding Yashasvi till he fell on the ground. It is because of him that Yashasvi has reached these heights,” Yashasvi Jaiswal’s father said on India Today.

“The entire family is happy and is distributing sweets,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Barucha was one of many who spotted Jaiswal’s talent and played a key role in his signing at Rajasthan Royals. Barucha recalled Jaiswal’s trial and said a lot of people deserve credit for the left-hander’s rise.

“He had come from U-19 India but IPL is a very different level. He came for the trial and I don’t remember who the bowler was but he walked across stumps and played a flick behind the square, first ball,” Bharucha was quoted as saying by Ommanorama.

“There is a saying that it takes a village to make a champion. There are many people who have contributed in Yashasvi’s journey so far and I just happen to be one of them. He came from a place where he had very little,” Bharucha had added.

Jaiswal will be in action in the fourth Test match against England at Ranchi.
