Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that Kylian Mbappe will adapt to fit in the club’s attack. Mbappé signed a five-year deal worth €15 million a year after taxes and will also receive a €150m signing on fee, spread over his deal, according to ESPN sources.
Mbappe will certainly add more strength to Real Madrid’s squad as he has got the pace and skills to beat the best defenders in the world. Madrid recently clinched the La Liga title and also lifted their 15th UEFA Champions League title by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.
“Honestly, I haven’t thought about it,” Ancelotti said about the player’s ideal fit while talking on Obi One’s podcast. “Fitting Mbappé in the team won’t be a problem. It’s important to remember what he said: He’ll adapt to the team. The key is that each player has to contribute talent and quality in service to the team.”
Meanwhile, Madrid once again savored great success in the last edition with strikers like Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Júnior, and Rodrygo doing the job for Los Blancos.
“Sometimes you can play on the left, sometimes you can play in the middle,” Ancelotti said.
Madrid could play with a 4-3-3 format in the upcoming season but Ancelotti can put Mbappe in front position.
“I see [Mbappé] him playing up front, and the attack is quite wide. The pitch is 68 meters wide, and we have to cover those 68 meters with the players in front,” he joked.
“It could be Vinícius. Because if I ask you, where did Vinícius play last season, it’s difficult to say. He didn’t play like a [left] winger. The important key to an attacking play is the mobility of the players.”
Asked about his first interaction with the Frenchman, the veteran Italian manager said, “Two things: First, I gave him a warm welcome, because the reception from Real Madrid and the fans was exceptional,” he said. “Second, I told him to rest, to go on vacation because it’s a very long season for players.”
